Nigerian security forces have been commended by political figures for the successful rescue of abducted pupils and teachers in Oyo State, with officials citing renewed public confidence in national security efforts.

An opposition lawmaker praised President Bola Tinubu and security chiefs, stating the operation reflected the growing effectiveness of the administration’s security strategy and the determination of the armed forces to pursue criminal elements wherever they operate, according to Vanguard News.

Duerimini Kekemeke, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and senatorial candidate for Ondo South, said the operation demonstrates that Tinubu’s security strategy is producing positive results. He urged citizens to support security agencies in their efforts.

Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, an APC chieftain in Osun State, added that the rescue has rekindled hope for a safer Nigeria and strengthened public confidence in government efforts to tackle insecurity.

Despite the positive political response, journalists were denied access to the rescued victims at a hospital in Oyo. Security personnel prevented media entry, maintaining tight security around the facility, Vanguard News reported. Only Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde was granted access to the survivors.

The rescue operation has sparked both praise for security gains and concerns over transparency, as the government has not provided official details or allowed independent media verification of the victims’ condition.
