Former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology Uche Nnaji is scheduled to be arraigned before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has confirmed.

Nnaji faces charges related to forged academic credentials submitted in connection with his candidacy for the Enugu State governorship under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), according to Peoples Gazette.

He was arrested at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on July 1, the report said. The arrest preceded the ICPC’s announcement of the arraignment date.

The charges stem from discrepancies in documents submitted during the nomination process for the gubernatorial race. The ICPC did not disclose specific details of the alleged forgeries but confirmed the case involves credential verification.

Naija News reported that the arraignment is set for Monday, though the exact time and courtroom were not specified. The Federal High Court in Abuja will preside over the case.

Nnaji served as minister under President Bola Tinubu’s administration before his resignation. He later returned to Enugu to contest the PDP governorship primary. The party has not issued a statement on the charges.
