Falconets midfielder Shakirat Moshood has joined Portuguese Liga BPI side SCU Torreense on a two-year contract, marking a significant step in her professional career, according to Complete Sports.

Moshood, 18, moves from Bayelsa Queens, where she emerged as one of Nigeria’s most promising young talents. She helped the team secure the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) title before her transfer. The move makes her one of the few Nigerian women to sign with a European top-flight club.

Reacting to the transfer, Moshood described it as a 'dream' opportunity and a major milestone in her career, per Premium Times. She said she aims to repay the confidence shown by the club through performance on the pitch.

SCU Torreense competes in Liga BPI, Portugal’s premier women’s football division. The club has not yet disclosed further details on squad integration or debut plans. Moshood previously captained the Nigeria U17 side, the Flamingos, and has since progressed to the U20 national team, the Falconets.

Her transfer signals growing international interest in Nigerian women’s football talent. The Nigerian Football Federation has yet to issue an official statement on the move.
